Mother
Krishnabai
(1903-1989) India
Biography Excerpt:
Papa was served by Mother Krishnabai, who
was drawn to him following the death of her husband in 1926. Initiated
also into the Ram mantram, Mother Krishnabai became renowned for her love,
devotion, and service.
Enlightenment Story Excerpt:
When Papa first gave me the Ram mantra,
he told me to practise Bhakti [devotion] Yoga , Karma
[action] Yoga and Jnana [knowledge] Yoga
simultaneously in order to attain His Supreme Being. Papa asked me to repeat
the Name constantly - that became Bhakti Yoga; to bring to mind all the
universal attributes of Papa such as 'Papa, Thou art infinite, Papa,, Thou
art eternal, Thou art manifest and unmanifest and beyond both' and so on.
That became Jnana Yoga. And, Papa told me that whatever work I did with
my hands I should regard as His service and this became Karma Yoga. By
doing all these three simultaneously, Papa granted me three of the four
Sakshatkars (realizations). Before I got the final experience, the fourth
Sakshatkar, I had to leave the place for another town.
